At Qwalis, some of our cotton textiles are (semi-)combed. But what difference does this really make, you may ask? Well after reading a few lines here below you will have understood everything.

After collection, the cotton is sorted, washed and then carded. This cotton is then spun, which is called carding. So all textiles are carded, but not all are combed! Indeed, when the fibres are beautiful and long, an extra step is applied: combing. The carded cotton goes through a series of increasingly fine combs that eliminate the short fibres, thus helping to remove all its imperfections.

The result: the textile is softer to the touch, the yarn is smoother and the printing results are better. It is more resistant to wear and tear over time and ensures consistent production quality.
